Publisher's summary
1812. In Bath and London, Jane Austen's characters are attending balls, and the Bridgerton family are making waves in Regency high society. But these are the grimy streets of Liverpool: a city where the extreme wealth of international commerce meets brothels and brawls, smugglers and secrecy; where both high and low society operate amidst revolutionary rumblings from France and the shadow of the recently abolished slave trade.
When the city’s most powerful shipping dynasty is ripped apart by the sudden death of its patriarch, a fierce battle for power ensues between the remaining members of the Hanley family. Backstabbing, betrayal, long-buried secrets—the Hanleys will use every underhand trick in the book to compete for control of the business and their inheritance. But, as they make and break alliances with each other, the city's wolves are circling. There are plenty of people ready and waiting to seize power, and to enact their vengeance on the family of John Hanley, whose past crimes can't stay hidden for much longer....
Succession meets Downton Abbey by way of Peaky Blinders in this gripping family saga.
Starring: Alex Good, Aston Kelly, Bethany Muir, Cherrelle Skeete, Jack Mcmullen, John Thomson, Katy Cavanagh-Jupe, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Riona O’Connor, Rosie Day, Sabrina Wu, Shaun Dooley, Stacy Abalogun, Sunetra Sarker, Susan Brown and Syrus Lowe.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Stunning
What a journey this takes you on. I’m from Manchester England so to discover this tale set so close to home is amazing. I have plenty of friends from Liverpool which this reminds me of. That good old English wit and the perfect use of swear words takes me back home. : )
No pretentious accents only genuine ones.
I’m looking for my next title as I type.
Bloody Brilliant, more please..

Interesting story. The narration was what made it for me. It was like listening to an episode of PBS Masterpiece. Talented voice actors, sound effects and music. I would definitely listen to another audio like this. It was unique and entertaining.

Surprise
This audiobook was a surprise felt like watching a tv show
The bad thing was the music kind of irritating to have to lower the sound all the time
Also kind of confusing to understand all the names and characters played
And the end I hope we will have a book 2 to finish the story
The people who who played have my congratulations well done.

Ok
Background sound drowns out the voices at times, sound of the ocean and birds overly loud. The storyline at times implausible though the twist and turns kept my interest thru to the end.

I usually listen to audio books and dramas to help me sleep. This one had me so riveted that I stayed awake to hear everything. I even listened while I was working on my computer. The voice actors, the plot, and the sound effects were amazing. Would love to hear a sequel.

This should have 5 star rating
I really love this book. It is well recorded. I don't know why the review was so low because it is really good. You get really drawn into it and it's fast pace for a saga. It also has a great mix of background noise that makes you feel like you are there.

Too many twists and turns
I liked it at first, but found the numerous twists and turns distracting. I also found it hard to keep track of which character was speaking. The acting and voices were good, but overall I didn’t like it. I did listen to the end, though.

Downtown Abbey Meets Sucession with a dash of Peaky Blinders
I really enjoyed this Audible original, my ADHD usually won’t let me finish something like this all the way through but I actually did find myself excited and eager to listen to each new episode. Which is why I was disappointed when it just sort of….ended. It felt like the writers got so involved with the story and characters that they forgot to check how long it was and once they did, they were like oh crap we’re way too long, hurry up and tie everything in a neat little bow and let’s get out of here. There is definitely some world building that could set up for a sequel in which case my opinion would be softer. However despite the abrupt and disappointing ending, the actors and sound design were phenomenal and it was overall a enjoyable listen.
