what you need to know

this review is primarily for those who have yet to buy into the story. this author is new to me as this is the first series of his have come across. it appears to have two additional companion series that go along with it. one that takes place before and one that takes place after. I know that at least one of those has already been completed at I believe seven books in total. in regard to this series I found myself essentially binging the whole thing or I should say what was available. at the time of this review the first 12 were available and the audio format and books 13 through 15 are available in ebook. overall I have found the series to be entertaining and as that is the primary goal I have rated the series highly. there are some inconsistencies that I have noticed throughout the series. characters who had knowledge of Prior events, but in subsequent parts of the story acted as though they had no knowledge of those events or as if they were not present. there are also a few places throughout the 12 books, most notably the first book, where the characters do things that are either out of character for them or simply do not make any sense. next we have an old trope of the villains becoming long-winded just before their end. literally laying out all the details of how they tricked or manipulated or their schemes and then they end up dying. now I know that this book is rated for essentially all ages but you can still have well written material without treating the young as if they're stupid. if they don't get it then they don't get it, but you shouldn't be writing down to them for lack of a better descriptor. I've seen some of the reviews for this book specifically which says that it was the worst one yet. I would have to disagree as I think that the first book was probably the worst of the series which is understandable as first tend to be shaky endeavors. what you need to know is that overall as I said the story is entertaining and worth checking out especially if you get it on sale. you can read the first book and then leave the series and be perfectly satisfied. you can read the first four and then leave the series and be perfectly satisfied. there is one more jumping off point although at the moment I don't remember exactly which book it is. lastly as this is an audiobook and I would feel remiss if I did not applaud the amazing job that the narrator has done throughout the series. seriously I have no notes. finally I do want to acknowledge the fact that the author is not the only person involved in bringing this book to us the listeners and the fact that most people don't think about writing a book, those that do think about it rarely actually do it, those that do do it rarely succeed, and thus this series that will number 16 as of January 2023 is something to be respected if not impressed by. well done to everybody who's had a hand in bringing this story to life.

Epic!!!

Have been hooked since I’ve sampled the very first book and have enjoyed each and every single book right now to this day do not change a thing please continue to give us this amazing tale at a gradual pace that has spelled out this phenomenal world letter by letter do not change a thing. In a world where so much is rushed thank you for giving us something we can breathe in freely and just exhale all of this amazing world. Keep up the great work 😊
