Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

Born the night that the Archmagus Valeria died, Endrance was gifted with the talent and mind for magic. He'd proven that he was more than capable of mastering the forces of magic and intellectual study at the hands of a master as mad as he was crafty. He was one of the Scribed; mages who had undergone a painful yet powerful ritual that granted them the ability to tattoo spells upon their very skin. He had finally proven himself to his master, and was free to practice magic at his own pace.

Beset by nightmarish creatures from the caverns below, Jason’s tribe is slowly being whittled away. He dreams of joining the glorious Shadowfront and battling the enemy known only as the Void. But, as a lowly Pastfinder, he is denied that path - until he chances upon the ruins of a long dead civilization and discovers a forgotten form of cultivation, one fueled by the ghosts of centuries-lost history and powerful, forbidden knowledge. If his fellow tribesmen learn of his new power's cursed origins, the Void will be the least of his concerns.

Publisher's summary
The Light Pantheon rules from above. The Dark Pantheon rules from below. Together, they defeated the other divine races and became the masters of Etinhym.
Eadric is the son of the Grave Queen, but he was raised in the Crown Realm as part of the alliance between the two pantheons. After reaching the age of 18, he’s finally able to choose the path that will allow him to acquire demigod abilities and explore the many realms of Etinhym. Although his goal is to become a Grave Lord, serving under his mother, he finds himself following the trail of a conspiracy that threatens the divine pact that has kept the jotuns, the valkyries, the greater demons, and the dragons from uniting against the gods.
Eadric’s story will take him through strange realms, from a spatially disjointed forest that twists and turns on itself to a living ocean of blood and a skyscape full of floating castles. He’ll also have to face off against strange monsters, corrupted spirits, and even towering abominations. If he fails, then the war that follows will likely be the last war Etinhym ever sees - a war that will surely lead to the extermination of the human race.
This book contains RPG elements, harsh language, and descriptions of violence.

Earth was invaded. Earth was conquered. And humanity was summarily subjugated, as 400,000,000 people were culled. The terrifying part was this only took the Peacekeepers a second. There wasn't even a chance for us to fight back. In the blink of an eye, questions like whether or not we're alone in the universe or at the top of the food chain were answered. We were not. Not by a long shot. Despite the mass murder, the Peacekeepers promise they're benevolent. They don't want to rule Earth. They don't want to control humanity. They just want us to stop playing around with AI and genetics.

this was way better than I expected
this started out feeling really slow and it took me a while to gain full interest but I'm glad I stuck with it

My first litRPG leveled up my love for books
The narrator was fantastic with no flaw or error ever breaking my suspension of disbelief. The writing and character information were sensible and easy to digest. With as much fun as I was having, I plan to listen to it again soon for anything I missed the first time. I would highly recommend this to others and hope they too can enjoy every part of it.

I really hate the minimum word count requirements for reviews on audible. . .

Great character development
Most litRPG have bland characters, but our MC here has a vivid personality, mostly bad, and we see a bit of character change throughout the book. Definitely above average for this genre.

Decent book
I found to book surprisingly good. The system for stats and skills was nicely done, and I liked out the world was set up with divinity and different realms.
My main drawback was slight confusion with how the main character acted. To me, his personality seems all over the place. in the beginning, his first impression was a submissive personality type, but it showed he was an arrogant prick. Then, his internal monologs and actions always seem different. one example was that he was saying how he was not got to get influenced by a powerful family, and then a half a day later, he was sleeping with their daughter. The only thing I could reson was just the culture differences is the reason for the trouble I have with the MC personality.

Interesting story, slightly jarring performance
The story is interesting and has enough happening to keep you hooked to see what happens next. The main character starts off as an entitled child but experiences good character development that makes them much more relatable.
The narrator has a habit of awkward pauses in the middle of sentences that sometimes distracts me from what is being said and also often the voices don’t seem to match the characters depicted quite right.
Overall definitely still worth checking out.
