Keenan

It's been four years since I ran away - from home, my brother, and my maybe father. I created a life free of expectations while pretending I wasn't being hunted by all of the above. I managed to stay under the radar all this time...or so I thought. When big brother shows up and saves my ass, I'm forced to face everything I left behind, including her.

Sheldon

It's been four years since I became another statistic. I made a lot of mistakes when it came to Keenan Masters. The first was loving him at all. He took something from me the night he left, and when I told him I still loved him, he told me he'd always hate me. After that, I learned how to be okay...until he came back. Gone was the boy who always knew how to make me laugh, and in his place was a cold, arrogant monster.

Cruel and entitled antihero!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😕😊😄😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Sheldon - it seems she had always loved Keenan. They dated all through high school and she constantly forgave him for cheating on her, because when they were together, it was so good. They loved each other fiercely, but she could never really understand him and why he did the things he did. When he was shot and nearly died, he was in a coma, and she didn’t visit him because she was determined that the last time he cheated (with a teacher, no less), was the last time. When he left, she was broken, and she put herself back together piece by piece.

The Hero: Keenan - He grew up feeling unwanted and thinking Kieran was his cousin and that his father was actually his father, though an absent one. During his senior year, he finds out that Kieran’s father, the man that sold Kieran when he was young was actually his father also. From the time Kieran was eight years old they were brought up in the same house as brothers, but after their father came back into their life, everything changed. He found out it was his brother that killed their mother years ago. He broke all bridges when he hit on Kieran’s girl Lake.

The Story: Keenan wanted to prove that nobody really loved him. He asked Sheldon to run away with him, but when she said no, he told her he hated her and that if he came back, she would be the one running, from him. Four years later, Sheldon was in college, just a few weeks away from graduation. She had been seeing Eric Spenser, the guy all the girls wanted. He was handsome, sweet, wholesome, and loyal. Though she never brought him to her house, where she had secrets.

I liked the fact that Sheldon finally put her foot down on Keenan’s cheating. Though him getting mad at her for breaking up with him and not being there when he needed her was par for the course for a narcissistic man like Keenan was. He was actually kind of funny about it, how he would first blame himself for things that he did to her and tell himself that she had every reason to hate him, but then turning around the next second and blaming her for betraying him.

What wasn’t funny was how abusive Keenan got towards Sheldon after he returned. He actually held her in a scalding hot shower till she passed out, and a one point put her in the trunk of the car when she said something he didn’t like. This is one guy I would have gotten a restraining order on, for certain. The story held my interest, but I never did like Keenan as a romantic lead, even in the first two books, when he was fun loving. Though I kept thinking, once a cheater always a cheater, so I couldn’t understand how Sheldon kept forgiving him. In this book, he had none of the fun parts of Keenans earlier personality. He was just cruel and entitled.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson. These are two of my favorite narrators. Teddy has a deep sexy voice and always does a great job. Ava has a sweet and youthful feminine voice which is very pleasant and sounds age appropriate for Sheldon. They both do a terrific job.

How Dark is Your Love

You thought you knew what dark love was after Kieran and Lake, but you don’t. Sheldon and Keenan are about to smoke them out of the water and make you love every second of it in the process. It’s dirty and gritty and intriguing and mysterious. Everything that the first 2 books have been. However Keenan and Sheldon take this enemies to lovers to a whole new level that will make you cringe and not even know how you want it to end.

But B.B. does, she knows just how you want it to end. That is the most perfect thing about this series. B.B. understands that her readers don’t want to be left alone on a giant cliff feeling frustrated. She puts you back together again and makes you feel snug as a bug but also continues the storyline in a way that is so intriguing, you have no choice but to continue on. B.B. is a true “author to the readers”.

If you are having a hard time with Teddy and Ava being the narrators for the entire series, even though the characters change, there is no need. Teddy Hamilton has a voice for all. How he manages to have a conversation between 4 men and I can tell who all of them are distinctly, is beyond me. He is greatly talented and perfect for this role. His Keenan voice was so dismissive and aloof, perfection. Ava also manages to pull off a different tone and different inflections for each female character. It makes it such an enjoyable listen. This series is quickly becoming a favorite audio of mine.

Good but some repetition

I liked hearing Keenan and Sheldon’s story, but some of the scenes were very much like the first two books . The narration was great!

Enjoyed it

I'm enjoying this Broken Love series. Fear Us is Keenan and Shelly's story. It was gripping, action packed and intense and had me hooked until the end. There were a couple of difficult scenes in this story but there were also lots of steamy scenes.
I enjoyed the narrator of this novel. They did a good job with the characters. This was a good read and a great continuation to the series.

Good Storyline, but...

I think Keenan was too abusive and unredeemable. Stories about over-the-top domineering men are becoming rediculous to the point the characters are written as women abusers.

Craziness

Keenan and Sheldon story <3
Keenan is the cousin or better say the brother of Kieran while Sheldon is the twin of Dash. They are all presented in the first two books as they are friends and hang out a lot.
Due to a very disturbing situation, Keenan is in the hospital recovering but after that, he hates Sheldon as is a bigger a**hole that Kieran because the way he treats Sheldon is unbelievable. He runs away and starts a new life while Sheldon has to overcome his loss and become a single mother. Of course, he can't hide for long because Kieran comes for him and after he finds out he is a father, his behaviour towards Sheldon is even more despicable. As usual, there are twists and turns and the dark side of their past are coming from the shadows and kidnap their daughter Kennedy. Like any love story, they will overcome their differences because the love and chemistry are still there and they will be a real family as it should've been from the beginning.

The series is not over and the story continues.

Disturbing but couldn’t turn it off

After the first book I thought let me see what happened to the brother. Well it was just as disturbing and yet intriguing as the first. I’m a little pissed at the heroine as she lets sex blind her but at that age I know I might have done the same. It’s believable and yet you hope it’s more fantasy than not. Worth listening to.
