Informed by the author’s peripatetic life, Disappearing Act reflects on the absurdity of human behaviour. Sheehan delves deep into his characters’ streams of self-talk and self-imposed delusions, exploring the dark impulses that lurk below the shiny surfaces of many outwardly normal lives.

Laugh Out Loud Fun
Our Fathers is hysterical. I have never laughed so hard throughout an entire book before. I loved the multitude of different creatures that swirled this phenomenal and unique plot. Simon, you really outdid yourself with this book. The narrator was absolutely perfect his comedic timing and voices were on point. The narrator brought you into the story as he brought it to life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves comedic horror stories. I received this book for free upon my request. I am so happy I received a copy. Awesome Narration, Exciting Story
The narrator of this story really made it exciting and hilarious. The story itself is okay, the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the redundancy, but I'm a picky critic. It reminded me of Monty Python movies, which I love, but it was definitely its own unique style, which I admire. I definitely laughed out loud more than once. Thanks for the entertainment!

Our Fathers by Simon Carr
Narrated by Justin Mills
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The book revolves around two priests, Father O’Riley and Father O’Malley who reside at the aptly named “ Bishop’s Point.” A few local farmers obtain a volume of what appears to be demonology from the parish - what a book of demonology is doing in the library of two Catholic priests is anyone’s guess.
Nevertheless, the farmers “accidentally” succeed in opening a portal to purgatory and all hell is released…literally!
The priests and farmers are flung into a battle involving hellhounds, demons, and even the devil himself appears to stake his claim in taking over the world with his diabolical plan.
Surprisingly, one of the Father’s takes to it as a duck takes to water.
“ What in the ding dong doodlebug has gotten into Father O’Riley…” is the remark, describing his newly discovered ability to fight off the demons. It all comes out in the wash, so to speak, but will the Father’s ever be the same again?
Simon Carr has composed yet another uproarious piece of fiction that evokes memories of the bumbling priests of Craggy Island - Father Ted and Father Dougal, not to mention the colourful language that was Father Jack, ( including the Easter egg of My Lovely Horse!) If you don’t find puns concerning religion etc, then this is not for you.
I listened to the audio version and couldn’t refrain from laughing or listening. There are musical introductions at the beginning of each new chapter along with a verbal presentation and even that has its own finesse, which displays great attention to detail for an audiobook. The combination of a great narrator and a brilliantly funny book makes for a marvellous listening experience. Justin Mills brings the characters to life with his own personal demonstration of each character and wonderfully fitting sound effects.
The unique style of Simon Carr blends perfectly with the narration of verbal expressions and won’t fail to leave you in hysterics.

The story is very funny. Very reminiscent of Monty Python and the Holy Grail meets a Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movie. Narration was very well done with the varying voices and sound effects. Highly recommend!

Simon Carr at his most coherent
Simon Carr's writing is an acquired taste. It's typically a mixture of Monty Python, Wright and Pegg, The Goodies, and Bennie Hill. In this title, imagine a farmer accidentally opening a portal to hell and unleashing a plague of demons, and eventually Satan himself. The Bishop tasks the two local Fathers with closing the portal and eliminating the wayward demons, so he does.
Grab your purse (and your brick) and your candle-snuffer-outer and follow the increasingly exasperated narrator through this tale of demon bashing and floating, farting demon airbags as Our Fathers save the world.

Just what the doctor ordered for 2022!
This is a hilarious story about a cast of characters who are incredibly moronic yet hysterically funny! I can’t help but be reminded of the Monty “Pythonesque” humor from days gone by. The author, Simon Carr and narrator, Justin Mills make a brilliant comedic team. Every little ridiculous detail will keep you laughing throughout! Enjoy!

Amusing Horror Story
I enjoy Simon Carr's work a lot and this book was no exception. I found the author's over-the-top humor, along with his irreverent material to be amusing and entertaining. There were times I found myself laughing out loud. I recommend this book to others who like this genre. Justin Mills' narration was excellent and added another layer of enjoyment to the story. His oration was a real pleasure to listen to as he narrated. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.
