Publisher's summary
Death walks beside me.
Two weeks ago, I was hired by the Dragon Prince of Zaru to help his brother, the King, deal with their dead. Not that there is an abundance of corpses in their kingdom, but those who die aren't staying in their graves. As a necromancer, I'm one of the few people on Serai who can put the dead to rest and discover why they are rising. As a Raltven, I'm particularly good at it. Good enough that the King of Zaru sent his brother across the sea to find someone like me.
At first sight, desire sparked between Prince Racmar and me. On the way to Zaru, our attraction for each other had grown. Now it's reached the point of combustion, but I want more than a single night of pleasure from the Prince. To win him, I must play a dangerous game, tantalizing the man without riling the beast inside him. Between Racmar and the dead, I have some serious work to do, and both are presenting unforeseen complications. The reanimated corpses aren't talking, something both unusual and unfortunate for my investigation. Then there is Prince Racmar who speaks too much, and his words are clawing at my resistance. I don't know who will break first—the unknown power behind the dead, the Dragon Prince, or me.
Death walks beside us Raltven, in our shadow form we are akin to spirits, but if I'm not careful, a spirit is exactly what I will become.

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Story
It’s been said that you can’t love two men at the same time. You can’t split your heart, soul, and body in half. But I’m here to tell you, you can. Dylan Cole is like ice, sharp and unpredictable, the thunder inside a tumultuous storm. Smith Reid is warmth, soft and gentle, perfect like a sunny day. Both are mine. But I can have only one. There are two sides to this tale. I'm here to tell you mine. If you think this story is about a cheater, you couldn’t be more wrong.

My life changed the day I tried to take his. Mhavenna is a glorious city but, like every city on the face of Serai, it's run by Dragons. As a human, I'm on the lowest rung of the racial ladder here, as far from an illustrious Dragon as I could be, and I've made me peace with that. I don't like Dragons much, but like or dislike has nothing to do with my work. So when my broker offered me the task of killing the Dragon King, I took it. It was the sort of kill that could make an assassin's career, and I was certain that I had the skills for it. I was wrong, nearly dead wrong. The King caught ...

A broken heart sent me running right into his arms. I live in a world of magic, but I'm a man of science. Nothing thrills me more than learning, be it a new language, culture, or the way something works. That is, until I fell for the Dragon Prince of Zaru. After he mated another man, I found myself listless, searching for something to ease the heartache. So when the offer of an archaeological job in Ha'tezan came to me, I accepted it instantly. I didn't ask what it paid or who was hiring me; I didn't care. I just needed to get out of Zaru. My employer is a king—King Xa'din of Ha'tezan. At...

Can I survive loving a god? For as long as I can remember, and even further back than that, the Dragons of Serai have worshiped a goddess and only her. But everything has changed. A god has risen. He has returned long-lost magic to my people and balanced the Fire within us. Those who could, made the journey to Ha'tezan, where the God's temple was unearthed. I am fortunate enough to be one of those Dragons. Shortly after my arrival, Karadas, the Dragon God of the Moon and Water, demanded a sacrifice—a man willing to give himself completely to our god and serve him in every way. Although ...

I'm a simple man; I like the three Fs—Feasting, Fighting, and Fu- well, you know the last one. I don't have many expectations for my life beyond those things and that's just fine by me. But when two fae amulets are stolen and only a human can retrieve them, my warlord asks me to help. He is the Hawk Lord—honorable, brave, terrifyingly powerful, and hot enough to set my pants on fire with a single look. That look was all it took to get me to agree to one of the most ...

The Dragons of Serai Series continues in another magical kingdom where cities rise above the clouds and love is as wild as the Dragons who rule. As a Dragon King, I should have little to complain about, but my life has become a monotony. I feel shackled to the throne, trudging through every day hoping for something to change. And then it did. While hunting a monster, I came across Shye. Utterly misnamed, Shye is anything but. He's vivacious, bold, hungry for life, and never hides what he feels. He makes me laugh. I can't remember when I've laughed so much or when I last looked upon my ...

The Dragons of Serai Series continues in this epic clash of worlds! My life was perfect. Or so I thought. I'm Mason Byrne and I'm a rock star. I travel the world, have millions in my bank account, and take a new lover every night. What could be better than that? Then one night, I'm playing the Tokyo Dome and a light appears onstage. Not a spotlight but a ragged oval of glowing, sparking energy that appeared in midair and swallowed me whole. The next thing I knew, I was on another planet, a world called Serai where humans are in the minority and shapeshifting Dragons rule. Luckily, I found a...

I've spent most of my very long life an outcast. Driven out of my home and dread by my mother, I wandered the seas of Serai until the Dragon God, the source of the Sea Dragons' magic, was trapped by the Dragon Goddess. Without a connection to Karadas, my kind were forced into hibernation. All but me. Because I'm different. I have more Fire in me than other Sea Dragons, enough to make me something else. I avoided hibernation, but without my Water magic, I couldn't survive in the sea. I left the water and didn't return for centuries, not until the Dragon God was freed and the Sea Dragons woke...

I'm destined to end the war. To do that, I must empower my fellow Wraith Lords. But to share my magic with them, I have to fall in love. I've managed it three times already. But the secret's out, and I'm finally accepted for who I am. I can do this. I can fall in love again and bring that man into our elite fighting team. I even have someone in mind. I didn't even like the man whose life I saved. Kardri Vangrarre is my warlord; I serve as a captain in his army—the Leopard Army. I respect him, and even admire him, but I don't like him. At all. He's vain, arrogant, and way too public with his abundant love life. In fact, he was right in the middle of one of his freaky, public orgies when we were attacked. I acted purely on instinct when I pushed him out of the way. I had no idea that I'd get hit instead, or that the green fireball would kill me. The Leopard Lord didn't have to save my life just because I saved his, but that's what he ...

Some men just won't take no for an answer. My life was good. Simple. I had a cushy job in the Falcon Army baking bread and fancy desserts for our warlord. But ever since I saved the Falcon Lord's life, he won't stop hounding me to become his valorian. He doesn't even know if it will work; I might end up with an extended lifespan and that's it. But he insists that I'm meant to be his, and damn if I don't want it to be true. I just wish that becoming the Falcon Lord's valorian didn't include all that other stuff. You know, like immortality and the likelihood that being immortal won't save me ...

Hatred sent me into his arms. I don't have a problem with Dragons or even Dragon Kings. The last Dragon King of Vix left my people alone, and that's all I want from one of them. He died at the hands of his goddess, and his throne has sat empty for several months, leaving the Kingdom of Vix to floundered. Crime has grown rampant in the crown city of Nuri, gangs freely roaming the streets, and the courtiers have taken over the castle. My king, the Great Luh of the Ricarri, has delighted in the chaos. But now, word has come that a young Dragon has won the crown. He has a rough task ahead of ...

Everything changed the day a faerie fell into my tomatoes. I thought I had my life planned out. My farm was prosperous, and I was on the verge of proposing to my childhood sweetheart. I'd have a family. A normal life. And then the Eagle Lord crashed into my crops—a giant bird with a broken wing. I foolishly tried to save him from the monster who was stalking him, and he repaid me by giving me immortality. Sounds good, doesn't it? Except immortality isn't free, even when it's a gift. Taryn Savagas wants me to fight beside him. To give up everything I have and everything I am to be his ...

I've dreamed of him for most of my life. Ever since I was a little boy, I've had the same dream; I save a lion from monsters. I've traveled around the world looking for my lion because I knew it wasn't merely a dream; it was a prophecy. But what I didn't know was how literal that prophecy was or how much that lion would come to mean to me. That he would be brave, powerful, honorable, and beautiful enough to make the Gods weep. I didn't know how drastically he would change me. And most of all, I didn't know that those changes would be so great and shocking that they'd threaten to destroy ...

Story
Perfect, powerful, and obsessed with tradition, omega Thran is the strongest warrior in a clan of reclusive forest dragons. There isn’t a challenge he can’t overcome—except for dealing with the fire dragon outsider Baleon, who’s been a pain in his ass since the day their worlds collided. Thran wants nothing to do with the showboating, freewheeling, and irritatingly attractive alpha—but a mutual need forces him into an arrangement from hell: he must learn firefighting from Baleon. Unique story
I liked this story much more than the first in the series. I really liked how the drama wasn't wrapped up neatly. It made it much more realistic and believable. It poses some real life, thought provoking scenarios about racism and inter racial dating.
The virtual voice is pretty good for what it is. I didn't mind it so much so that I listened to this, the second in the series, and plan to continue to listen.
There are some occasionally wonky voice parts. but the that detract too much from the story.

Good, once you get used to the voice
First, the elephant in the room: this is recorded with a computer voice. For what it's worth, it's not bad. However, it's not great. Once you get used to it, you can get through it without paying it much attention. The story for what it's worth is entertaining and steamy. I like that the necromancer is willing to be a necromancer and use necromancy as part of the plot. The world building is decent and the underlying racism that exists is believable. Perhaps my favorite part is that there is no actual good guys or bad guys. Everyone did something shitty and is still doing shitty things. It's a good example of how a bad thing can snowball into a terrible thing, and continue to grow, especially when it's ignored for "the greater good". The main characters are generic tropes but still likable. All in all, I'd recommend this if you can get past the computer voice. It's a fun afternoon listen.

Excellent plot and virtual voice was good.
This is my second review for this author and series and just like the first book I was sceptical at first about the virtual voice and then quickly pleasantly impressed. I had a highschool physics teacher that was more monotone and inflectionless than this virtual voice. It's not perfect and can get a little confusing where there is dialogue between two different characters. And it obviously doesn't perform the emotional scenes but it was impressive for a virtual voice.
The story was well written, planned out, and left me with all the happy feelings and determination to seek out the next book. Thank you so much!
This book featured a lot of racial issues that antagonized the budding relationship. It was well written to really make you think. My personal opinion when I read fantasy with an HEA is to avoid that kind of real life drama, but it was so well written I had to listen until the end.
