Publisher's summary
Years after hijackers killed his father, an ordinary college student gets a chance to fight terrorists who have hatched a plan to destroy the United States.
A ringing phone awakes Dan Lennigin, college student, in the middle of the night, and the caller baffles him with a stream of panicked gibberish. It is a code, meant for someone else’s ears, and it draws Dan inexorably into a tangled international conspiracy. Minutes after the call, an operative for antiterrorist agency Lucifer is killed, and his superiors come for Dan. He is the only one who heard the warning, and now that he knows what is happening, he can’t say no.
Ever since his vacationing father was murdered by hijackers, Dan has dreamed about taking revenge on the world’s terrorists. But this threat is no fantasy. It has already claimed the lives of several professional terrorist hunters, and Dan is no professional.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

With a quartet of the region’s deadliest soldiers, he puts into motion a scheme that spells doom for the Western world. His target is not Israel, but Israel’s protector: the United States. On their trail is Alabaster, an Israeli special-forces agent whose true identity is buried under so many layers of deception that not even the Mossad knows who he really is. But every terrorist has heard of him, and knows to be afraid.

Poor reader
The narrator talks too fast and I had to slow the audio down to 90%. The story is very unrealistic but who cares.

Don’t bother
Ridiculous story, terrible dialogue, and shallow characters. Narrator sounds like he’s rushing through to make a plane flight he’s late for.

Interesting story
The story and premise I found interesting but I couldn’t listen to more than a few chapters because of the narrator’s voice. Unfortunate.
