  • 257: Ever Since You Programmed My PCM My Daughter Is Pregnant!
    May 25 2024

Welcome to the "Ever since you" Club. If you've been in the industry for any amount of time, you've experienced this. "My rear brakes are grinding ever since you changed my windshield wipers" Sometimes the claims made by customers are really out there. I mean, the vehicle lighting randomly flashing couldn't be caused by a transmission solenoid strategy update... could it? I make a case today to never exclude the possibility that you DID cause the issue the customer is concerned about, even if it doesn't make sense up front. The burden of proof is on us as repair professionals.

  • 256: Prove Yourself Wrong
    May 18 2024

On this week's episode I'm sharing a mindset that I like to take when I believe I've found the the problem during a diagnosis. This has helped me have a better accuracy rate and identify multiple problems. After I've gotten to the part that seems to be the issue, I like to prove myself wrong... But shouldn't I be proving myself my right?? Listen to find out where I'm going with this and how to help get to the accurate solution more often.

Very informative and helpful

Excellent general coverage and useful tips regarding automotive issues for technicians. Helps to clarify and expand some ASE related information if you are studying for the exam.

Great Information and Great Interviews

This is my favorite podcast, I wish that I could review each episode. Sean always gives great examples and goes through each step in any tech tips that he has or case studies that he has for the week. The interviews are always interesting, he sets them up well and I think it's great to get different perspectives on these topics. I love the content on communication networks and his focus on electrical troubleshooting in general, this is definitely an area that many techs struggle with and is something that I think we can all gain to learn something from. I'm looking forward to going through each of these episodes and seeing how much I can learn and apply to my own work!

Awesome Interview

Awesome Interview, it's really interesting to get your guy's perspective on the content taught in your own curriculums. I myself am just starting my first year towards an associates degree in Automotive Technology at Columbus State Community in Ohio and I'm really looking forward to the program. They go over a little bit of everything mechanically speaking but I'm really loving the electrical courses, they have three levels and even have a couple of courses on alternative energy vehicles and hybrids and I think it would be great if every tech was able to get into those lines of study as well.
I'm really liking these interviews, keep them coming!

Awesome podcast some really great information and always enjoyed listening. I’m a dealer technician and always looking to improve on my diagnostic skills and I find the podcast allows me to see different viewpoints on the aftermarket vs the dealer .
