Story
Aliens ripped a hole above Earth, arriving with a massive space station. I sorta figured we'd be enslaved to fight in their wars or exterminated for our resources. Nope. The hip-high Iglax were merchants with ugly squished faces and thick blue fur. While they weren't much to look at, they sure did have some wonderous technology.

Story
Ex-Army paratrooper Griffin “Fin” Brooks thought he left danger behind when his battlefield injuries forced him to pursue a new career in marine biology. But one fateful night off the coast of South Africa, a ship nearly crashes into him and his loyal golden retriever, Jacques. Not just any ship. A starship. Though its alien pilot is dead, the rare extraterrestrial animal inside is not. Fin learns the creature is being smuggled across the galaxy when a pair of interstellar visitors respond to the crash. But those same investigators accuse Fin and his dog of crimes he didn’t even know existed.

When Noah sees an advertisement offering him a chance to rent a starship, he’s convinced it has to be a trick. Story
I never thought I’d get laid off when my contract at the mining colony of Port Ellipsis was abruptly terminated two years early. Now, I have a few extra credits and all the free time in the galaxy, so it’s time to ditch this barren colony and take a well-earned vacation. One small problem—a gorgeous redheaded thief slips aboard my ship, and her cutting-edge cargo is worth millions, if not billions, to the people who want to get it back. When we meet a sweet alien girl with an innocent smile, things get even more complicated.

Story
In 2036, an eccentric billionaire funded humanity’s first trip to Mars as an ego project. That expedition made the most significant discovery in human history: proof of extraterrestrial life. The ancient alien outpost they found catapulted humanity’s knowledge of faster-than-light travel, genetic engineering, and planetary colonization forward by centuries. Almost a century later, humanity has shown that despite their use of advanced technology, some things haven’t changed.

When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

After the death of a grandfather he never knew, Caleb Holdstock inherits a mysterious mansion. The place needs a lot of work if it's to be liveable, but the truly strange thing about it is what's in the basement. A doorway drawn in chalk. Publisher's summary
When Darius’ newly founded colony on Umbria Prime is attacked, he fights off the raiders and finds clues that humanity’s old foes–the Iglax–are to blame.
Once again, he’s got to return to the galaxy at large to upgrade his ships, advance his skills, and spread humanity further among the stars.
Along the way, Darius will test-fly alien starships, establish a ‘Top Gun’ style starfighter academy, terraform a triple-planet star system, and face down the galaxy’s best pilot in a winner-takes-all contest. The action’s intense, the space battles sprawling, and the pressure’s always on. And through it all, Darius isn't afraid to push every limit to protect his friends and family!

Every Space Marine starts out as a cherry, though, and Abner is no different. When he makes his first combat drop, or cherry drop, he’s a know-nothing second lieutenant added to the mission roster as an afterthought.

Story
Earth has long ago expanded into space, found, fought, and befriended aliens, and expanded across the galaxy to dominate most of it, but one of the semi-immortal warlords who founded it is about to have a revelation as the "Endgame" that has been whispered between various advanced civilizations lands squarely on his shoulders. The Empire knew this was coming, but they had no idea the scope of it. Lightside civilizations are always hounded and attacked by those who revel in evil, but when the Endgame starts, it's a beatdown like no other coming from outside the galaxy.

I enjoyed the story quite a bit
Right up front I'll simply say that I recommend this book to anybody reading this review. For those not in the know this story was originally supposed to be a one-off. I don't know what happened behind the scenes to allow it to become a series, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the story this far. There certain sad points speckled throughout but also some pretty awesome moments and overall it balances out in my opinion. I'm happy to hear that there's going to be a fourth book. No idea as of the time of this review whether there will be a fifth one. Also the fourth book is only out in ebook form as of right now though I do look forward to doubling back when it gets the audiobook treatment. I tend to flip back and forth between the two versions depending on what I'm doing. The nareadersrrator did a fantastic job. The audio version also has a preview of another book from Royal Guard. Lastly I'll simply say Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing the story to the audiobook listeners and Amazon .

I hope this isn't the end. 🤞
I'm loving this series.
It seems like the series could end here at book 3 but there is so much left unresolved.
So I'm seriously hoping there is at least a book 4.
If you've been following this series then you're going to like this book.
I'm giving this book 7.5 out of 5 stars.
